Water

As a child, Ngenwi Deborah McCormick collected water from springs and streams. There were numerous such locations regardless of the time of year - dry season or rainy season. Due to population increase and expansion in buildings, people started building in areas near the streams and the streams filled in with land.. This process made the availability of spring water scarce. The village decided on an aggressive approach and built a reservoir. Pipes from the reservoir brought water to different areas of the community. This venture was called scan water and funding was made through household contributions in every neighborhood. A couple of years later, scan water dried out and the community is now left to find alternate portable water.
